Siblyback is a lovely large lake on nearby Bodmin Moor, great for watersports and all sort of recreation. We just like the sound of the word, Siblyback, it’s runs off the tongue nicely!

Siblyback Lake is one of three 20th century reservoirs constructed on the granite moorland to supply the majority of the county’s water.

The lake is set in an area where many claim to have spotted the Beast of Bodmin, a large wild cat said to roam the moors. Sightings say the beast is a huge black panther type animal, and this is backed up by some reports of unusually mutilated local livestock. The existence of such a creature is widely rejected by scientists, but nothing has been proved so keep yours eyes peeled for the local legends known as the “Best Goon Brenn”.
